If you are like me a red sole always catches my eye and I almost always think to myself, “is that shoe comfortable?” The colour red has had a long history, not only is it a primary colour but it is also one of the oldest colours. It is a symbol of fertility, love and of course the all-famous heel of a Christian Louboutin shoe. Just as this shoe says “I AM HERE” when one walks into a room, the colour red also symbolises the “I AM” chakra which is the Root Chakra and is the chakra of stability, protection, safety and comfort.
I can confirm that there are not many Louboutin’s that have inspired comfort within me however the feeling of “I AM” is definitely a theme they share for me. Okay so this blog is not really about shoes but this shoe loving girl can always dream. I do love a fabulous pair of shoes and they have the ability to make me feel great when I am strutting my stuff down the street. I distant memory with COVID and perhaps if I put the same amount of energy into my root chakra, I might feel the same “I AM HERE” without my heels on
I would actually like to introduce you to the beginning of my Chakra Visualisation Series. I am starting with the Root Chakra; the I Am chakra… A good place to start for me as I am building a practice online and during covid times, the challenges have not exactly nurtured feelings of safety, security and comfort with in me! However, I am committed to finding ways to nurture what I need, and to share them with you. I cannot share my shoes but I can share with you my Root Chakra Visualisation. It is a visualisation that helps us release old patterns that may not be serving us and nurture feelings of protection, safety and comfort. We go on a journey into your imagination and meet your Personal Power. We take inventory of what no longer serves us and we let it go with love. We then nurture and re-connect to our Root Chakra with warm words that help us release without resistant and then align us with our desires of protection, safety and comfort. Our Root Chakra or otherwise known as Muladhara, the “I AM” chakra, sits below the tail bone and is the centre of stability. I have always been a girl who favours stability and safety so this is an important chakra for me to keep in good health. I have tried to included lots of tools and tips in the beginning on how to deepen this experience for you. This practice is designed to be done as many times and as often as you need. Any practice done often and with intention becomes a mindful practice, and with mindfulness comes awareness. This meaningful experience will nurture a greater connection with yourself.
I for one have found that this is what I desire after a year of confinement – connection! What better place to start but with connection with self during a time of social distancing? I have spent so much time with myself because there has been less noise and less to distract me. I literally had nowhere to hide from myself. It has been a year of getting to know myself and as I am as human as the other, I have discovered I have work to do Although perfect is not the goal it did begin a journey to loving myself (unconditionally). If I can provide the protection, safety and comfort that me and my inner child needs to be the best version of ourselves then the stability I desire will be present in my life giving me the freedom to explore the world around me. Which leads nicely into the next Chakra, The Sacral Chakra which is the “I FEEL” chakra relating to our emotions, creative potential, sexuality, playfulness, desire, freedom to express and the ability to flow with change. All these words just excite me so much however I feel I need my I AM to be firmly rooted on the ground before I can flow with change! So back to the basics, let’s get my Root chakra feeling nurtured, loved, seen and heard!
Find the Root Chakra Visualisation HERE. This visualisation helps us release old patterns that may not be serving us and nurture feelings of protection, safety and comfort.
